Apostille Legalization Services
Chile is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, so in many cases, documents from apostille-issuing countries can be used in Chile with an apostille certificate. However, if your documents are intended for a non-Hague country via Chile, or if you're handling foreign documents within Chilean legal or business systems that don’t accept apostilles, you may still need embassy legalization.
You may need to legalize documents such as:
-
Corporate documents: contracts, business registrations, import/export forms.
-
Educational documents: diplomas, transcripts, school records.
-
Personal documents: criminal background checks, civil status documents, affidavits, and certifications.

Legalization Process
Notarization
If required, documents are first notarized by a licensed notary public
State Authentication
Authenticated by the Secretary of State in the issuing state.
Federal Authentication
Certified by the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.
Embassy Legalization
If apostilles are not sufficient, the Embassy of Chile or Chilean Consulate completes the final legalization.
